ID: A promo image showing the two different book covers for Hunger Pangs: True Love Bites side by side. One is blue, one is red. Both show three characters juxtaposed in a bisexual parody of the "distracted boyfriend" meme. On the right, white text stands out against a purple/blue gradient. It reads: Hunger Pangs: True Love Bites, Book one of the Hunger Pangs Series. Beneath that it lists qualities of the book: queer paranormal romance, vampire x werewolf, gaslamp fantasy, mutual pining (the love is requited, they're just idiots), slow burn and happily ever after, for now.... The bottom line of text reads: both medium and high heat versions available in eBook, Paperback and Audio. The image is surrounded by a rainbow gradient frame.ALT

My bestselling debut romance novel, Hunger Pangs: True Love Bites (Phangs) is out now and available in eBook, Paperback, and Audio.

Set in a pseudo-regency meets fake-Victorian Gaslamp Fantasy world, complete with gothic castles, enchanted forests, and just a smidge of industrial coal dust. Phangs has been described as “like reading the queer, goth love child of Terry Pratchett meets Jane Austen,” and no amount of marketing buzzwords I say can ever top that.

If any of that sparks your interest, you can:

Why are there two versions and what’s the difference between them? Glad you asked! You can also check out individual content tags and heat ratings on my website at www.joydemorra.com

Yes BUT. This specific desk is in a library so a parent that needs to use a library computer can do their work and have a little ease in managing their kiddo. In a library environment this is less productivity culture bullshit and more 'oh this is a fantastic solution to a difficult situation library staff see 8 times a day'. Is it still productivity culture bullshit because this parent may not have affordable childcare or internet available to them? Yes. Am I glad it exists in a library environment to fill a demonstrated need? Hell yeah.

and keeps library staff from having to act as babysitters...

impling

dear GOD we could use a couple of these. we keep crayons and coloring books on hand for the ones old enough for that, but the wee ones squirming and fussing in laps while the parents are fighting with job applications or convincing gmail’s current 2-step verification to let them in so they can print off a return label (both of which i have seen)? this would be SO NICE.

library groups have been loving this & are spreading the word & actively trying to purchase/create similar things in different systems

Don’t forget y’all that there’s a much better way for us to let Tumblr know what we think about specific changes, rather than @ ing staff or wip, and it’s sending in a support ticket and choosing feedback!

Tumblr reverted some of the asinine app decisions they made after a concerted feedback effort! So make sure to use this form! It’s what it’s for, but it’s not well advertised!

Whenever I see anything like this my first thought is that @thebibliosphere will know what these words mean.

Unfortunately, you would be correct.

“Vampire facials”, which many people think is needling but is actually far, far worse, refers to platelet-rich plasma facials, in which blood is taken from a patient, processed in a centrifuge to extract the plasma and then re-injected it into the face. It’s supposed to make the skin “heal” itself because of platelets or some shit, giving you a more youthful look. Kim K helped make it popular after it was on her show but I know she also supposedly regrets it.

It’s uh, controversial to say the least. And not just because it sounds like painful bullshit but because lack of regulation for this sort of thing has lead to a couple of cases of HIV transmission happening.

The penis version is that they’re doing the exact same thing, taking plasma from themselves or a donor and injecting it into the penile tissue, supposedly to treat erectile dysfunction, but a lot of the men doing this are doing it just to get a girthier look.

And if you think I hate knowing all this, you’d be right.

For people migrating to tumblr from twitter or reddit, here's a little PSA:

The op of a post not only sees your replies in their activity, they also see your tags! So if you feel like insulting or mocking the op or talking about how you disagree with every single aspect of the post, probably make your own post! Because I can guarantee you that the op is not gonna appreciate seeing those tags and that there is a good chance that you'll get a response.

I'm not seeing any naked adults in that screenshot...

...There's something deeply messed up about how breasts, which are used by our species to feed babies, are considered to be so perverse and obscene that a child should never see them.

alexseanchai

There aren't any naked people in the entire video clip. There's some people that you'd probably see less of their skin on a beach, but only because on a beach they'd probably be wearing a bikini top as well as whatever else they have on. And this is New York City, where toplessness is legal regardless of gender or assigned sex.

Is the new Indiana Jones movie good? Kind of a boring question tbh

Do I appreciate that Indy mentions continental drift given that it would've been a groundbreaking scientific breakthrough in 1969 (given that it was posited as a theory in 1967), subtly noting that he has been keeping up with the science of history and how geology is beginning to impact our understanding of the continents? Yes, yes I do

Do I REALLY appreciate how many Nazis get punched? Oh most certainly yes
